What's new with Colby?

Here is the newest things that Colby has been up to:
1. She was a scuba diver for Halloween.
2. She loves cheddar cheese string cheese.
3. Colby uses the potty on her own, but not consistently yet.
4. Her preschool teacher said today that she plays as 'rough' as the boys play.  Sadly, this often leads to time outs.
5. Colby knows all 26 letters and can count to 14.
6. The mini fashionista loves her pink boots and wearing skirts with tights.
7. Her favorite toy in a small elephant tied to a little rope, known as 'ellee.'
8. Her favorite drink is chocolate milk.
9. She wears 2T or 24 months still.
10. Colby is always the first one of the family to fall sleep at night, and the first to wake up in the morning.

Easter

Easter was a fun time in the house.  We began the day with going to Church and praising Jesus.  We then headed to Easter brunch with waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, omelets, etc.  It was good and both kids ate A LOT!!  It was time to take naps once we got back home in order to rest up for the egg hunt.  Early in the afternoon we did a fun egg hunt with plastic eggs filled with skittles and mini dinosaurs.  Tristan loves gum so there was some gum eggs too.  We had a small gathering of family, friends and neighbors for a potluck style Easter bbq.  It was fun to watch the kids play with their friends and plus it was easy clean up because we could stay outside in the sunshine.  The kids were super tired after dinner and so we all took baths and went to bed.

Colby loves the slide at the park.

Getting her to slow down is the problem.

On our way home from church.

Hope to capture her sweet little voice.

Colby on a Friday afternoon..

Colby insisted on putting on her pj's even though it was 4 o'clock.  She put them on all by herself and wanted to play outside.  So we did.

What's new with Colby...

Colby is developing into a little ray of sunshine that keeps us on our toes at ALL hours (that she is awake).  We love her so much and are enjoying these top 5 new things with her:

5. She is a GREAT breakfast eater!  She generally snacks the rest of the day and never eats a big dinner, but she will always eat a big breakfast and she always eats more than Tristan.  She likes blueberry smoothies, apple cinnamon oatmeal, coconut pancakes and cheerios with lots of honey.

4. Colby does not like wearing headbands or anything on her head.  This includes not liking the little rubber bands used to hold her hair out of her face.  She will immediately pull out her hair bands and walk around with her hair in her face at every opportunity.

3. It's no use doing her hair or putting on her shoes if she's going to ride in the car longer than 2.2 seconds.  In less than a minute from sitting in her car seat, she'll take off her shoes and socks and pull out whatever hair ties I successfully tied in her hair.  If she's wearing tights, she'll try to pull those off too.

2. Colby wakes up every morning naked.  This includes pulling off her diaper.  It doesn't matter if she does to sleep wearing a 2 or 1-piece jammie set, she will still take off all her clothes every morning, lol.

1. Constantly talking.  This little one loves to talk!!  Her speech is fairly advanced with saying sentences and comprehending most everything we say to her.  She sings, talks to Tristan and loves to 'cheers' with water, milk and juice.

A Day In The Life Of Colby Cakes

A day in the life of an 'almost' 18 month old.

I thought it would be fun to write out Colby's daily schedule and witness how God is growing our baby girl into a toddler.

Our day usually starts around 7am (Colby wakes up earlier, but she plays in her crib for just a little bit)...
7:30-8:30- Wake up, play upstairs with Tristan, play a phonics game on the Kindle, eat breakfast which always includes milk, she does not like any type of juice.  As far as breakfast preferences, Colby is a good breakfast eater.  She likes smoothies, bananas, granola, waffles, oatmeal and pancakes.  She will not eat eggs, french toast, sausage or cinnamon rolls.

8:30-9:30-  Get dressed.  Practice abc's, numbers, shapes, colors, ten commandments and reading with Tristan.

By around 9:30 we are all ready to get out of the house and get our day started.  Three days of the week we go to either the library, the science center, church, the zoo, the trampoline park, the aquarium or a play date with friends.  The other two days of the week Tristan and Colby come with me to the gym and participate in an awesome class called 'Mighty Mites'.  This class is a wonderful 'work-out' class for kids under the age of 6.  Colby loves following around the older toddler girls and learning how to jump on the trampoline.

11:30-12 pm- Lunch time, watching the kids favorite DVD (Leapfrog's 'Building Words'), quiet play and getting ready for nap.  Her lunch meals are hit and miss depending on her appetite for the day.  Sometimes she has a big snack around 10:30 and isn't very hungry for lunch.  She does like pb&J, grilled cheese and pesto pasta.  Above all her favorite snack right now is applesauce and string cheese.

1-3'ishpm- Nap time.  In order to sleep well she must have her blankie and pink bunny.

3-5pm- PLAY as much as we can, out of the house.

5-7pm-Dinner, bath time (every night), and normal end of day things.  Right now Colby loves grilled chicken and squash.

7-8pm- Prayers, singing (usually a Frozen song, lol) and bed time.
